Issues & Requirements: KKR doesn’t have much to spend at the IPL Auctions. They have 8 slots left – can they do any quality buy in 10.75 Cr remaining purse will be their biggest challenge. Some of the top domestic performers can be on KKR’s buying list – but will franchises left with bigger purse leave anything cheap for them at the table is bigger concern for KKR at this stage.

Possible Targets: Jason Behrendorff, Mustafizur Rahman, David Willey, Jhye Richardson, Kyle Jamieson, Umesh Yadav, Ankit Rajpoot, M. Siddarth, Mohammad Azharuddeen, Avi Barot, Sheldon Jackson

Rajasthan Royals
Purse:INR 37.85 cr, Slots left: 9, Overseas slots left 3
Existing squad breakdown:
Top-order batsmen: Sanju Samson (c&wk), Jos Buttler (wk), Ben Stokes, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Manan Vohra, Anuj Rawat
Finishers: Riyan Parag, David Miller,
All-rounders: Rahul Tewatia, Mahipal Lomror, Spinners: Shreyas Gopal, Mayank Markande, Fast bowlers: Jofra Archer, Andrew Tye, Jaydev Unadkat, Kartik Tyagi

Possible Targets: Jason Roy, Alex Hales, Dawid Malan, Gurkeerat Mann, Shivam Dube, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Umesh Yadav, Chetan Sakariya, Vishnu Solanki, Harbhajan Singh

Chennai Super Kings
Purse: INR 19.90 cr, Slots left 6, Overseas slots left 1

All-rounders: Sam Curran, Dwayne Bravo, Spinners: Karn Sharma, R. Sai Kishore, Mitchell Santner, Imran Tahir,
Fast bowlers: Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, Lungi Ngidi, Josh Hazlewood, KM Asif

Issues & Requirements: They require replacement of Shane Watson at the top and a possible cover for Dwayne Bravo. No Harbhajan, Kedar Jadhav means – they will also be looking for replacement in the off-spin department.

Possible Targets: Glenn Maxwell, Moeen Ali, Alex Hales, Jason Roy, Aaron Finch, Lukman Meriwala, Chetan Sakariya, K. Gowtham, Shivam Dube, Sam Billings

Royal Challengers Bangalore
Purse: INR 35.40 cr, Slots left: 11, Overseas slots left 3
Existing squad breakdown: Top-order batsmen: Virat Kohli (c), Devdutt Padikkal, Josh Philippe (wk), Finishers: AB de Villiers (wk), Pavan Deshpande, All-rounders: Washington Sundar, Daniel Sams, Spinners: Yuzvendra Chahal, Adam Zampa, Shahbaz Ahmed, Fast bowlers: Mohammed Siraj, Navdeep Saini, Kane Richardson, Harshal Patel

Issues & Requirements: If any team is heavily dependent on IPL Auctions to resurrect themselves that is RCB. RCB has 11 vacant slots to fill – the good part is that they have money to shop for the players they require. For 3 overseas slots – they may go big for the likes of Glenn Maxwell, Kyle Jamieson and Shakib Al Hasan.

As back up for Josh Philippe (WK), they may go big for domestic stalwart Mohammed Azharuddeen.

Possible Targets: Glenn Maxwell, Shakib Al Hasan, Steve Smith, Daniel Christian, Chris Morris, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Kyle Jamieson, Mustafizur Rahman, Shahrukh Khan, Shivam Dube, Mohammed Azharuddeen, Sheldon Jackson, Avi Barot, Vishnu Solanki

Kings XI Punjab
Purse: INR 53.20 cr, Slots left: 9, Overseas slots left 5
Existing squad breakdown:

Top-order batsmen: KL Rahul (c&wk), Mayank Agarwal, Chris Gayle, Mandeep Singh, Prabsimran Singh, Finishers: Nicholas Pooran (wk), Sarfaraz Khan, Deepak Hooda, All-rounders: – Spinners: Murugan Ashwin, Ravi Bishnoi, Harpreet Brar, Fast-bowlers: Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh, Ishan Porel, Darshan Nalkande, Chris Jordan

Issues & Requirements: They have to fill 5 overseas slot, they have biggest purse to shop and can be spoilt for choices at the auction. KXIP desperately needs big all rounder in the squad & also a pacer who along with Mohammed Shami can be lethal for the opposition.

Possible Targets: Shakib Al Hasan, Chris Morris, Ben Cutting, Daniel Christian, Jhye Richardson, Mustafizur Rahman, Steve Smith, Moeen Ali, Harbhajan Singh, Gurkeerat Singh Mann, Ankit Rajpoot, Umesh Yadav, Vishnu Solanki

Sunrisers Hyderabad
Purse: INR 10.75 cr, Slots left: 3, Overseas slots left 1

Issues & Requirements: They look like a very well settled unit – with only 10.75 Cr available they may stay little inactive at the auctions. They are a top heavy unit and need 1 impact player in the middle. Also a death bowler is what they will look for – but the big question, can they afford ?

Possible Targets: Riley Meredith, Mark Wood, Oshane Thomas, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Matt Henry, Shivam Dube, Kedar Jadhav

Delhi Capitals
Purse: INR 13.40 cr, Slots left: 8, Overseas slots left 3
Existing squad breakdown: Top-order batsmen: Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer (c), Finishers: Rishabh Pant (wk), Shimron Hetmyer, All-rounders: Marcus Stoinis, Chris Woakes, Spinners: R Ashwin, Axar Patel, Amit Mishra, Lalit Yadav, Pravin Dubey, Fast bowlers: Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Ishant Sharma, Avesh Khan

Issues & Requirements: DC needs back up seamer for Rabada and Nortje, especially when SA vs Pak series is scheduled at the time when IPL 2021 is likely to roll. South African players may miss the start – so DC will look for a seamer at the auction who can come good in the absence of South African pace duo.

Other possible target for DC can be a back wicket-keeper batsman as a cover for Rishabh Pant.

Possible Targets: Umesh Yadav, Ankit Rajpoot, Daniel Christian, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Chris Morris, Mohammed Azharuddeen, Avi Barot, Sheldon Jackson
