IPL Auctions 2021: Top 5 International Players to watch out for this Auction, check out- International players have always lit up the show both on and off the field. With a cap of only 8 international superstars in the squad and the inclusion of a maximum of 4 foreign players in the final XI, the Franchises have always been meticulous about their purchase and selection of these band of players. Teams always lookout for the best of the best to fit in their squads to bring the right man for the job. With 1097 players going under the hammer in the IPL Auctions of 2021, let’s have a glance at the top 5 international superpowers who can spark up the table on 18th February 2021.

1)      Steve Smith

The axed Aussie captain, Steve Smith will surely be the elephant in the room on the auction day as the franchises will be looking to rope him for his experience and stellar show at the international fore over the years. Steve Smith was released by the Rajasthan Royals after their poor run in the IPL 2020, dwelling at the bottom of the table. Steve Smith had a poor display both as a leader and a batsman, managing to score only 311 runs in 14 matches. RR has officially deployed Sanju Samson as the new captain of the team.

2)      Glenn Maxwell

Another Aussie who can increase the bills of the franchises is Glenn Maxwell. With a dismal show at the UAE in IPL 2020, Kings XI Punjab has given him the pink slip. Maxwell’s past few IPL’s have been forgettable but every time he shows up in the auctions, he manages to catch the eyeballs of the spenders for himself, such a brand he has created for himself. With a potent show against the Indians in the recently concluded series of ODI’s and T20’s, it is expected that his name will once again ignite the room.

3)      Shakib Al Hasan

The Bangladeshi All-rounder, Shakib Al Hasan, has remained an integral part of whichever team he plays for. He made his comeback recently against the ongoing series against West Indies after serving a ban of 1 year from ICC for not reporting a corrupt approach during the IPL 2019. Touted as one of the best all-rounders of all time, he provides the necessary balance in the middle order as he can bowl 3-4 overs and score quickfire runs down the order. Shakib has 749 runs and 59 wickets in 63 IPL matches so far.

4)      Moeen Ali

The Englishman made his debut in the IPL in 2018 for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Since then he has been a part of the squad but failed to create a major impact for the Virat Kohli’s side. He was given a run for 3 matches only in the 2020 edition and the management decided to let go off him for the 2021 season. The all-rounder is a handy batsman up the order and with his off-spinners, he can be the surprise weapon in the armoury. Also, he can end up as a cheap buy for the franchises.

5)      Aaron Finch

When the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) roped in the Australian captain of the limited-overs cricket from the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), they had huge expectations from him but he failed miserably to them. He scored a modicum of 268 runs from 12 matches. Sometimes the numbers do not present the true picture and he can be the powerhouse right at the top of the innings. It is expected that the kangaroo will get a contract with either of the franchise with only a few big names going down.
