It is not yet clear whether Disney has any future ambitions in sport in the Asia-Pacific region.

IPL Media Rights Holder to shut Fox Sports Asia Channels: Its Indian subcontinent Hotstar streaming platform and Star pay-television platform have strong sports components. In Indonesia, Hotstar and Disney Plus have been rolled out as a combined proposition – Disney Plus Hotstar – although it does not carry sport. In the US, alongside Disney Plus it operates sports streaming app ESPN+. However, ESPN+ has not yet been rolled out in any other markets.
