Jaipur is confirmed as the venue for mini-auction of the Indian Premier League on December 18 (Tuesday). The eight franchisees will trade for a maximum 70 players with ₹ 145 crore to spend.
The auction will be a one-day affair and there is also a change in venue with the event moving to the Pink City from Bengaluru. InsideSport.co has reported on November 24 that the auction will take place in Jaipur on December 16.
Eight Indian Premier League team owners with a maximum of ₹145.25 crore to spend on up to 70 players have been advised to be in Jaipur on December 18 to complete their team line-ups for the IPL Season 12.
The Board of Control of cricket in India had informed the franchisees about the auction date and venue. Only the official announcement was awaited.
Since the trading window will be limited to a maximum of 70 players the auction process will take place only on December 18. The day before has been reserved for franchisees’ briefing about the auction process.
Kings XI Punjab will be the leading players at the auction table with the biggest player purse (₹36.20 crore) will have to pick the maximum number of players (15 – 11 Indians and four foreigners).
