A place atop the Indian Super League Season 6 points table will be high on the agenda of two-time champions ATK as they take on hosts NorthEast United at the Indira Gandhi Athletic stadium in Guwahati today (Saturday).

ATK in the second position have played a game less than ISL 2019-20 table toppers Bengaluru and stand a good chance to edge past the Sunil Chhetri-led JSW Sports-owned outfit on both points and net goal difference.

Head coach Antonio Lopez Habas will be expecting more consistency from the team that has won three of the six matches, drawn two and lost one.

“We are working very hard. Now with the first part of the league almost over, the position we are in, I am happy. We are in a good position in the table. In my opinion, we need more football and better performances from every player,” says Lopes.

North East United though far below the ATK on the points table is the only unbeaten team other than table toppers Bengaluru in the ISL Season 6 so far. However, inconsistency has been the biggest weakness of the team that boasts of a solid front line with the likes of Samoah Gyan, Martin Chaves and Panagiotis Triadis, but struggles in guarding its own citadel.
