ISL 2020 Broadcast : Rangers have agreed an innovative broadcast deal that will see Indian Super League matches streamed in the United Kingdom this term. Rangers will now stream Hero ISL matches to a UK audience through their Facebook have have secured rights to show six matches in the coming weeks.
James Bisgrove, Commercial and Marketing Director, said:: “This innovative partnership with the ISL represents a further pillar in Rangers international strategy and cements our ambition to develop a meaningful and long-lasting relationship with the growing Indian football fan base.
The deal, which started with two games last weekend, will see the Scottish Premiership leaders live stream another four matches from Indian soccer’s top flight via their Facebook page.
All of the remaining games included in the deal will feature Bengaluru FC, who have been a strategic partner of Rangers since 2019.
The Ibrox board have expanded their commercial operations in India in recent months after clinching a partnership with Bengaluru FC and recruited Bala Devi as the first ever female professional Indian player.
In October, they penned a deal with Star Sports that secured their position as rights holders for the SPFL in the ever-growing market.
It is exciting to see the ambition of the Indian Super League, who are looking to expand their profile and international footprint and Rangers is delighted to be playing an important role in this growth strategy.
