Fiji born ATK Mohun Bagan striker once again gave a testament of his prowess as he scored the opening goal in ISL’s first ever Kolkata derby to break the deadlock and give Mohun Bagan the lead.
After a goalless first half, Krishna broke the stalemate early into the second half with a clinical finish on the 49th minute to put the ATK brigade in front.
Krishna, who scored ATK MB’s only goal in the season opener against Kerala Blasters once again delivered on the night to outclass arch nemesis East Bengal in the marquee clash.
In ATK’s first match of ISL 2020 against KBFC, with the defending champions faieled to find any inroads until Roy Krishna hit the back of the net in the 67th minute to hand ATK the winner.
With his derby goal last night, Krishna joined the top scorer’s tally alongside NEUFC’s Kwesi Appiah and FC Goa’s Angulo with two goals each.
Manvir Singh scored the final goal as ATK MB won comfortably 2-0 and climbed to the top of the ISL 2020 points table.

After a goalless first half, ATKMB too just under minutes to break the deadlock and it was once again the ruthless striker from Fiji, Roy Krishna who was in the scoresheet. After going down, SCEB tried to build attack of their own but ATKMB defended with intent. Balwant Singh had a good chance around the hour mark but h failed to test the keeper.
ATKMB were happy to sit back, defend their lead and hit their rivals on the counter. SC East Bengal came close to scoring but were unable to find a way past Arindam Bhattacharja. 5 minutes before regulation 90, super sub, Manvir Singh’s brilliant solo effort gave ATK Mohun Bagan the breathing space and ensured they grabbed all three points and claimed bagging rights in the Kolkata derby!
