Indian Super League (ISL) side Kerala Blasters FC has kick-started the KBFC Young Blasters program, a grassroots and youth development initiative for budding and passionate talent across the State.

With an objective to spread the KBFC style of football across Kerala, the Young Blasters program will be completely organized and coordinated by Kerala Blasters FC.

As torchbearers of football development in Kerala, technique, purpose, and joy become the three core values that the club upholds through ‘Young Blasters’. A standardized, scientific and procedural form of coaching that paves the way to a bright career in football, thereby achieving pure joy from the sport is the key idea behind this initiative, the Indian Super League club has stated in a Press release.

Young Blasters will operate on three different segments: KBFC Young Blasters Football Schools. KBFC Young Blasters Affiliated Academy and KBFC Young Blasters Football Centres. In the first two categories, all Technical support including a KBFC certified coach and curriculum will be provided by the club to the partner schools and affiliated academies. Training ready grounds and enrolments will be managed by the schools and academies.

KBFC will also be providing special training to the Physical Education teachers as per the requirements of the school, through which a larger number of students can be reached. On the other hand, KBFC Young Blasters Football centers will be a high-performance area, for which all aspects including the grounds and enrolments will be solely managed by Kerala Blasters FC.

“As a club, our core philosophy is to have a team that truly represents Kerala. While we are proud to have fielded 6 local players for the 1st time in the ISL this year on the pitch, it is our vision to continue nurturing football in Kerala and contribute to its growth. KBFC Young Blasters will pave the way for many such talents in the future.”, says Nikhil Bhardwaj, owner, Kerala Blasters FC.
