Hardik Pandya has been forced out of the five-match One Day International and two-game T20 International home series against Australia. Ravindra Jadeja will replace the seam bowling all-rounder in the squads for all the five one-dayers.
There will be no replacement for Pandya for the two T20 Internationals.
Team India all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been ruled out of the forthcoming T20I & ODI series against Australia due to lower back stiffness, BCCI has stated in a Press release.
The BCCI medical team decided to rest the all-rounder and let him undergo strength and conditioning work for his lower back at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. Pandya will begin his strength work from next week.
The T20I squad will now consist of 14 members.
Australia starts their tour of India, that will also feature 5 ODIs in the latter part, with the first T20I at Visakhapatnam on Sunday, February 24.
The senior selection committee of the Board of Control for Cricket had named two different teams for the ODI series to give rest to Bhuvneshwar Kumar for the first two ODIs.
