Jakarta Asian Games 2018 : Organizers set target of 1.2 million ticket sales

Indonesia Asian Games 2018 Organizing Committee (INASGOC) has set a target of 1.2 million ticket sales for the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang.

The 18th Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang are set to sell more than 1.2 million tickets, a member of the Indonesia Asain Games 2018 Organizing Committee (INASGOC) has revealed. “We will sell over 1.2 million tickets during the Asian Games for all the sports,” Danny Buldansyah, an INASGOC official, was quoted by Kontan media as saying.

The tickets are sold online with prices hovering from 750,000 rupiah ($ 52) to 7.5 million rupiah ($520).

A total of 11,000 athletes and officials will participate in the Asian Games which will run from August 18 to September 2 in the Indonesian cities of Jakarta and Palembang.

Meanwhile, the Asian Games organizers have already started ticket sales for the event’s opening ceremony, which will be held at the Gelora Bung Karno main stadium in Jakarta on August 18. The tickets for the events will be available for purchase by the middle of this month.

Tickets are available via official online ticket seller kiostix.com, which is also accessible via the Games’ official website asiangames2018

Tickets for the opening ceremony are priced between rupiah 750,000 ($52.50) and rupiah 5 million ($345), while for the closing ceremony tickets range from rupiah 450,000 ($32) to rupiah 2 million ($135). Payment can be made with Visa and Mastercard credit cards, Indomaret minimarket, CIMB Clicks and Mandiri E-Cash.

The organizers have allocated 40,000 opening ceremony tickets for sale. Francis Wanandi, an official with the INASGOC, said the ticket price was more affordable than similar events in other countries. “We have made it affordable [for the opening ceremony] as in other countries the ticket cost is above $100,” Francis told the press.
