KKR ties up with Smile & Meer Foundations to spread health

Kolkata Knight Riders have tied with the Smile Foundation and the Meer Foundation to spread the goodness of health to the underprivileged people in the State of West Bengal.

The Indian Premier League Kolkata franchisee in association with the two charities will conduct a series of 12 mega health camps in the districts of Kolkata, South and North Parganas, East and West Midnapore, Burdwan, Darjeeling, Alipurduar and Coochbehar. The initiative aims to serve at least 2,400 people directly.

“It gives us immense happiness to be able to be there for our fellow citizens and share their pain, take care of their health and spread smiles,” the three associates for the charity have stated in a media release.

The first mega health camp was organised at Bantala, Kolkata, on Sunday, April 15, for the slum dwellers of the Dhapa-Bangtala area.

The health camps will be conducted by a team of general physicians and paediatricians along with the paramedics staff. The needy and underprivileged will be provided free counselling, medicine, tests and diagnostics.
