In-from Dinesh Karthik has been omitted, can be read rested, as the national selection committee of the Board for Control for Cricket in India has named two different squads for the five-match One Day International Series against the visiting Australia.

Bhubaneswar Kumar is rested for the first two ODIs, while KL Rahul surprisingly gets a place in the squad only for the entire series. However, there remains a question mark on Rahul getting a place in the XI when Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan are also present.

Rahul also gets a place in the squad for the two T20 Internationals.

Skipper Virat Kohli and pace spearhead Jaspreet Bumrah are back for all the five games. Along with Rahul, Siddharth Kual too gets a place in the squad for the first two games.
