The official signing of the agreement took place during the presentation of World Football Summit 2018, the international leading event on the football industry held annually in Madrid. The third edition will be celebrated on September 24 and 25.

WFS explained during the official launching of WFS Asia today (Saturday) at Club Financiero Génova that they want KL to become the Asian hub for the football industry: “We believe the first international edition of World Football Summit will be a great success, and we have decided to focus on Asia because of the potential of the region as a whole”, stated Marian Otamendi, Director of WFS.

The project has the support of LaLiga, Global Partner of WFS: “From the beginning, we have supported WFS in its initiative to organize an international edition, and we had clear that Asia was the right direction to start. Malaysia is definitely the place to be, and from LaLiga we are starting to work together with WFS in this project” – Oscar Mayo, LaLiga’s International Director said.

WFS Asia has been backed up by Governmental bodies such as the High Commission of Marca España, as they see it as an opportunity to expand the Spanish brand towards the Asian region, and the Malaysian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain, H.E.
