Kurt Angle reveals top secret match of Rey Mysterio & Randy Orton in Wrestlemania 22: The member of the WWE Hall of Fame clarified that they had to cut his performance in the great event due to the time limit.
WrestleMania 22 is remembered by many fans as one of the most important nights in Rey Mysterio’s career. The masked man defeated Kurt Angle and Randy Orton in a triple threat to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, thus honoring the memory of his friend Eddie Guerrero who passed away last year.
In relation to this event, Hall of Fame member Kurt Angle commented through his podcast on the process the three competitors went through to prepare for this fight. “We had 21 minutes for this match with tickets included, and these were not very short to say,” clarified the host of “The Kurt Angle Show.” “My inning and Randy’s lasted two minutes, but Rey’s was eight.”
“We had only nine minutes to deliver one of the main events of WrestleMania.” Kurt Angle clarified that the brief duration of the fight drastically affected the original idea of the fight. “We cut a lot of details from the fight,” Angle clarified. “It was a very difficult fight to develop, especially since it was a triple threat. It is really difficult to cut details in a fight that requires three men moving in unison and make known what is going to happen next.”
Angle clarified that he was not happy with the final result due to the short time given. “The only thing running through my head is the fact that we didn’t have enough time. And cutting off so many moves just left us with something very fast. It was a very fast-paced match because of that.
