La Liga: 5 most expensive Real Madrid signings before Kylian Mbappe rumors, check out – Real Madrid has been heavily linked with a move for Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian  Mbappe in the summer. The 22-year-old is currently in his last year of contract with PSG and reportedly seeking a move away from the Parc des Princes. Los Blancos are also interested in the French forward and have made a 160 million euro offer for the World Cup winner.

The La Liga side is optimistic about the Frenchmans’ arrival and if things go well, Mbappe would become the most expensive signing in Real Madrid’s history. Let’s have a look at the current record and the most expensive transfers that have Los Blancos has completed over the years.

James Rodriguez

The 2014 world Cup star caught everyones’ eyeballs with his performances in Brazil. Real Madrid acted quickly and completed the signing of the Colombia international in a 76 million deal. Rodriguez currently remains to be the fifth most expensive transfer in Real Madrid’s history since joining them in 2014. He has featured in over 125 league games for Real Madrid scoring 37 goals while providing 42 assists during his time in Spain.

Zinedine Zidane

The Frenchman is undoubtedly one of the best signings Real Madrid made back in the early 2000s reportedly paid nearly 79 million euros to Juventus in 2001. The investment went on to yield fruitful results for Los Blancos as Zidane lead Real Madrid to Champions League glory as a player while also leading the team to 3 CL victories as manager.

Up next in the list comes one of Real Madrid’s most admired players. Los Blancos president Florentino Perez was in his second stint at Real Madrid when he once again decided to break the club’s transfer record in 2209. He decided to shell out  95 million euros and went on to sign Ronaldo from Manchester United and bring one of the worlds’ best players to Spain. The Welshman will always be remembered fondly by football fans after he joined Real Madrid in a record-breaking deal. Headed by Perez once again, The La Liga side broke the bank and paid 101 million euros to sign him from Tottenham.
