Lacoste expands tennis portfolio, now signs Davis Cup deal

The French fashion brand Lacoste’s love for tennis is continuing. Now, Lacoste has agreed on a deal with the French Tennis Federation to become an official partner of this year’s Davis Cup final between France and Belgium. The brand is already an official sponsor of the French Open and with this deal will extend its partnership with the sport of tennis. Lacoste which is considered as one of the world’s most iconic fashion brand will dress all linesmen, lines-women, ball boys and ball girls working at the event.

Davis cup final will be played between host France and Belgium between 24th and 26th November at the Stade Pierre Mauroy in Lille. The Davis Cup is the premier international team competition in men’s tennis and is contested annually in a knockout format. France will be looking to secure their tenth title, while Belgium will be hoping to win the tournament for the first time.
“We are happy to continue the authentic history of Lacoste in the world of sport,” said Thierry Guibert, chairman of the Lacoste group. “René Lacoste brought so much to tennis and the Davis Cup France team that it was natural for our brand to accompany this event. We are also delighted to extend our historic partnership with the FFT for a weekend and bring this touch of French elegance to the competition.”

Lacoste is known for its association with tennis and is a sponsor of the ATP events all around the globe. Recently Lacoste had signed a five year deal with the Shanghai Rolex Masters. Not only the tennis events but this May Lacoste create a stir in the sporting circles by announcing multi-million dollar deal with 12 time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic who notably switched his apparel brand from Uniqlo to Lacoste. The five-year deal was announced just before this year’s French Open.
