This is the 20th straight game without Anthony Davis for the Lakers, and the 6th straight without LeBron James.

Lakers vs Bucks 4th Quarter

A nice finish through contact from Kuzma makes him 6 for 8 in Milwaukee’s paint tonight, though he’s just 1 for 8 from 3, part of a downward LAL trend from 3 tonight after they hit 8 triples in the 1st Q.

They’re just 2 for 21 since opening 8 for 13.

Bucks lead 101-88.

LAL cut MIL’s 20-point lead in half with the 3rd triple from Matthews, though Giannis answered with an alley-oop from Middleton (8 assists) to make it 92-80 with 9:29 to play.

Lakers vs Bucks 3rd Quarter

LAL finished the 3rd Q on a little 6-0 run after falling behind by 20, their biggest deficit. Marc Gasol comes in to start the 4th Q, his first minutes tonight, with LAL down 14.

Andre Drummond is out for the rest of the night due to a right big toe contusion. X-rays were negative.

Drummond was getting the toe worked on/taped up just before the 3rd Q started, and Montrezl Harrell played the first few minutes before Drummond replaced him at the 9:29 mark.

Harrell returned to replace Drummond soon after, at the 7:55 mark.

Jrue Holiday is 6 for 7 with a pair of 3’s, his latest putting the Bucks up 57-49 at halftime.

It was a rough 2nd Q for LAL after a strong opening period. The Bucks closed the half on a 14-4 run. MIL better contested LAL’s 3’s after 8 1st Q hits, and walled off the rim.

Lakers vs Bucks 2nd Quarter

Two more TO’s, from THT (his 3rd) and then KCP, dribbling through traffic, helped MIL trim the margin to 2 at 37-35. That’s 6 TO’s now in the first 5 minutes of the 2nd Q.

Two more TO’s, from THT (his 3rd) and then KCP, dribbling through traffic, helped MIL trim the margin to 2 at 37-35.

Bucks regain the lead, 40-39, on a pretty pass from Khris Middleton.

Middle pick-and-roll with Lopez, helper stuck around to tag Lopez and Middleton whipped it over the top to DiVincenzo in the corner for a 3.

That’s 6 TO’s now in the first 5 minutes of the 2nd Q.

LAL has 4 TO’s already in the 2nd Q, at the 8:25 mark, after committing only 2 in the 1st Q.

MIL trimmed only 1 point off the 1st Q lead, however, with Kuz hitting a pair of shots and Harrell adding his first bucket.

Frank Vogel challenged a foul called on Matthews that looked like an offensive foul on Giannis despite it being on the floor, perhaps because it resulted in the 2nd PF for Giannis, with 10:29 left in the 2nd Q.

Vogel won the challenge and is 12-5 this season.

Lakers vs Bucks 1st Quarter

The Lakers are 8 for 12 from 3 to start this game, led by 3 of 4 from Markieff Morris, translating to a 26-18 lead at the 2:46 mark. The defense has been active as well, with MIL shooting 38.9%.

Matthews is 2 for 2 from 3 off the bench against his former team.

Lakers up, 17-11, with 6:58 left in the first quarter. The bucks got out to a 6-0 lead and the Lakers came racing back in a hurry behind five 3-pointers.

After hitting a floater at the FT line on offense, Drummond drew a charge on Giannis on the other end.

That’s a part of his defensive package on a team with Montrezl Harrell and Alex Caruso amongst their leaders in that category.

Drummond made a terrific early play on defense in his debut here, jumping into the lane to contest what appeared to be a Giannis shot, before recovering to reject DiVincenzo on the baseline after Giannis dropped the ball off.

Really quick off the floor for such a big player.

Lakers vs Bucks Starting 5

Frank Vogel says Andre Drummond will play starters minutes tonight. If he says he needs a break, the Lakers will give him one, but Vogel reiterates that Drummond is in good shape.

Lakers coach Frank Vogel, on the Bucks: “From my point of view, they’re just as much of a title contender as anybody from the East or the West…I think they have the ability to reach that ultimate level.
