LaLiga names official drinking water partner in China

LaLiga, the organising body of the top two divisions of Spanish football, has signed a partnership with Chinese mineral water brand NongFu Spring.

The deal makes NongFu LaLiga’s official drinking water partner for this season in China. Founded in Hangzhou in 1996, NongFu is China’s largest bottled drinking water company.

Sergi Torrents, the country manager for LaLiga in China, said: “This partnership with NongFu Spring will help build closer connections between the LaLiga brand and the Chinese public, and expand its visibility and influence in China.”

A NongFu spokesperson said: “Football is a young, passionate and dynamic field, and this partnership will further promote our brand, and serve as a healthy watching companion for fans.”

NongFu is currently a global partner with Fina, the global governing body of aquatic sports, in a deal that will run for four years until 2022. It was also previously a partner for the 2017 China Run Marathon series, the Asian Marathon Championships and the Belt and Road Marathon series.
