The clubs according to latest list released by Forbes have an average valuation of ₹10,738 crore ($1,652 million) and an annual average revenue of ₹1,716 crore ($246 million).
The top club has registered a revenue of ₹2,679 crore ($426 crore) and the club with the least evaluation has earned ₹1,326 crore ($204 million) during the 2016 season. The club with the least income during the season has earned ₹1,196 crore ($184 million)
This is the healthy financial status of the National Basketball Association (NBA) clubs. According to Forbes’ Team Value Report for the 2016-2017 season, each club is a billionaire now.
The table is topped by New York Knicks. The Madison Square Garden Company-owned club is valued at ₹23,400 crore ($3,600 million), a 9% gain over the previous season. The club has an annual revenue of ₹2,679 crore ($426 million) and operating income of ₹910 crore ($140 million), states the Forbes reports (20th Annual NBA Team Valuations.)
Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors are placed second and third with respective valuations of ₹21,450 crore ($3,300 million) and of ₹20,150 crore ($3100 million).
The league’s 30 teams have generated $7.4 billion in revenue last season. This is a new record with 25% increase of the 2017 season. The average NBA franchise is now worth a record $1.65 billion, up 22% over last year, and more than triple the figure of five years ago.
