Liquor brand to sponsor Chinese Super League

The Chinese Super League (CSL) has signed a one-year sponsorship agreement with a local distillery. Sponsor company’s one brand will be the official supplier to the CSL for the 2017 season, whilst its other brand will become the official Chinese spirit of the country’s top-tier soccer championship. The Nanjing-based manufacturer will have a strong brand presence at all of the league’s matches through pitchside LED boards.

The financial terms of the one-season agreement have not been revealed. “It is not just a sponsorship for sports events, but more about a corporation fulfilling its social responsibility of ‘Dream Helper’,” said Ma Chengquan, president of the CSL. “We also look forward to seeing more corporations like Yanghe joining us to promote the development of China football and make contributions, so that the Chinese football dream can come true.”

Last year’s CSL was won by Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao whose Brazilian striker Ricardo Goulart topped the goalscoring chart with 19 goals. Many people’s favourites to win the 2017 championship are the André Villas-Boas-managed Shanghai SIPG.
