LoL: Istanbul Wildcats won the TCL Winter 2021, qualified for Mid Season Invitational (MSI) 2021. Today, the Turkish League of Legends competition wraps up the Grand Finals where Istanbul Wildcats emerged as the champion. They not only won the title of Turkish Champions League (TCL) Winter 2021 but also they secured a spot in MSI 2021. Mid-Season Invitational will be starting next month. The top 12 teams from all regional competitions of League of Legends will battle together.
TCL Winter 2021 Overview: Road to MSI
TCL is the highest level of League of Legends competition to the players of Turkey. Total 10 teams participated in the event where all teams played the Group Stage in a round-robin format. All teams played round-robin matches with the best of one format. After finishing in second place at Group Stage, Istanbul Wildcats emerged as the winner of the TCL Winter 2021.
Playoffs of TCL Winter 2021 took place from 3rd April to 17th April 2021. The top six teams from the Group Stage was qualified for the play-offs. In Play-offs round 1 Galatasaray Esports and 1907 Fenerbahçe Esports were qualified for the Semifinals. In Semifinals 1907 Fenerbahçe Esports placed against the SuperMassive Esports who was the winner of Group Stage.
Unfortunately, SuperMassive Esports couldn’t make it to the Grand finals. In Grand Finals 1907 Fenerbahce Esports played against the Istanbul Wildcats. Istanbul Wildcats defeated the 1907 Fenerbahçe Esports by 3-1 at best of five Grand Finals.
With this win, Istanbul Wildcats secured a spot in Mid Season Invitational (MSI) 2021 which will start from 6th May 2021. They are placed in Group B with LEC winner “Mad Lions” and PCS Spring champion. Mid-Season Invitational 2021 will be played on the League of Legends Patch 11.9.
