Unilever-owned ice cream brand Magnum will be the official ice cream and distributor for the French Open tennis grand slam.
British-Dutch consumer goods company Unilever and French Open have over two decades of existing relationship. Just before the 2017 French Open edition, Unilever’s deodorant and antiperspirant brand Rexona Men had signed a deal with the FFT to extend their sponsorship agreement by two years.
Magnum in the three-year deal has become the new ice cream partner for the French Open. The deal runs from 2018 to 2020.
The deal also includes other Unilever brands like Ben & Jerry’s, Carte d’Or, GROM and Kinder even as Magnum will have the status of the official supplier and distributor of ice cream at the Rolland Garros event.
French Open, slated between May 27 and June 10 at Paris’ Rolland Garros tennis court, is the largest clay court tennis tournament of the year.
