Manchester United signing Amad Diallo: Manchester United on Thursday announced the most awaited signing of Amad Diallo from Atlanta. After procuring the youngsters signature on the deadline day saga of October 5, 2020, United agreed for the youngster to extend his stay in Atlanta on a 6 month loan and has finally arrived at Old Trafford now.
The initial fee for Diallo is understood to be €21m(£18.7m), with an additional €20m possible in add-ons. The 18 year old striker said in a statement, “IT’S A DREAM COME TRUE TO FINALLY COMPLETE MY MOVE TO UNITED. I’VE WORKED REALLY HARD TO BE READY TO MAKE THE STEP UP TO THIS AMAZING CLUB.”
The exciting young prospect will be seen donning the No.19 jersey for the red devils.The youngster follows in the footsteps of the likes of Dwight Yorke, Edwin van der Sar and Nicky Butt. Marcus Rashford also previously wore it at Old Trafford. Diallo is highly regarded for his sizzling pace and a wide array of skills all over the football world and it would be exciting to see how he adds to the United’s attacking arsenal. United last had their hands on the league title in 2012/13 and since then it has been a long wait for the Red Devils.
Currently, United are tied on points with the current league leaders and reigning champions Liverpool at 33 points, but the Manchester side has a game in hand as the Jurgen Klopp’s side have played 17 compared to United’s 16 matches.
