Manchester United, the English Premier League soccer giants, have today become the latest club to launch an official account on TikTok, the China-based video-sharing platform.
The account at @manutd will feature a variety of content including highlights, exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, short-form video clips of the first team squad, Under-23s and women’s players, and ‘hashtag challenges’.
The channel will also provide tailored content for each country.
The club said the platform will “pioneer fresh and unique ways of engaging with existing fans, while reaching out to a youth audience globally.”
TikTok and Manchester United will also work together on augmented reality content created exclusively for the club’s fans, as well as stadium takeovers and other brand collaborations at televised matches.
Phil Lynch, Manchester United chief executive of media, said: “This exciting launch will help us connect with a new generation of fans around the world and provide a platform for new forms of storytelling and innovative club content.”
They join TikTok’s growing soccer stable which also features the likes of Liverpool, Italian giants AC Milan, German clubs Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, as well as Spain’s LaLiga and France’s Ligue 1.

Manchester United plays Arsenal on Sunday in Premier League games at 9pm IST.
