Manchester United is offering £ 350,000 ($ 4.45 lakh) weekly pay package to retain star goalkeeper David De Gea for the next five years.
British Daily The Sun has reported the Spanish goalkeeper can ink a five-year deal with the Premier League club after this revised offer. Manchester had in January offered De Gea £ 300,000 per month to stay at the club.
The club are reportedly ready to increase that offer to £350,000 a week to tempt De Gea. This will be a 75% increase on the goalkeeper’s present salary of £ 200,000 per month.
That will be a huge increase on his current £200,000-a-week package — but still short of the staggering £505,000 a week that United flop Alexis Sanchez earns. The paper has reported that the new four-year contract will have the option to extend the deal by one more year.
De Goa, regarded the best contemporary goalkeeper in the world, has made 362 years for Manchester United in his eight year stint with the Reds.
According to Fox sports, Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was opposed to the idea of increasing his wages until recently.
However, aftr Ligue 1 Champions Paris Saint Germain expressed interest in the goalkeeper that United resumed talks with a revised offfer. The new set of proposed wages will make him one of the top earners at the club.
