Meet Rinku Singh and Saurav Gurjar; India’s first tag-team at WWE

WWE News: WWE is majorly known for giving opportunities to talents from across the globe. Meanwhile that some of the Indian Wrestlers who have tried their destiny for the same to make a major impact on WWE. The former World heavyweight champion The Great Khali is a great example for that who almost achieved everything in WWE and whereas, former WWE champion Jinder Mahal is also a prototype of that.

However, Rinku Singh and Saurav Gurjar have been a part of WWE NXT for a while now. The duo made its way to WWE in 2018 and soon began teaming up at WWE NXT live events. They made their explosive debut on the brand on the March 25, 2020 edition of WWE NXT, by attacking current Smackdown superstar, Matt Riddle.

Interestingly, both members of Indus Sher have done some work on the small screen before making their way to WWE. While Rinku won his ticket to fame on a reality show ‘Million Dollar Arm’, Saurav found success in the world of television as he was part of well-known shows like ‘Mahabharat’ and ‘Sankat Mochan Mahabali Hanuman’. To add to it all, Gurjar will make his Bollywood debut with one of the most anticipated movies to hit the screen ‘Brahmstra’ which is slated to release in 2021.

However Many aren’t aware that both Rinku and Saurav had participated in the WWE Dubai Tryouts in 2017, which ultimately led to their WWE signing. Here’s what Rinju Singh had to say about how they learned to get used to the spotlight.

“It is not difficult for us to pick up the physical part of the business as we both have experience in sports. But, performing in front of a packed crowd is a whole different experience. When we started out, we used to be extremely nervous but with time, we have grown accustomed to the spotlight.”

When it comes to Rinku and Saurav, the duo has made it clear what they are aiming for, in WWE. The behemoths want to become the first-ever WWE Tag Team Champions from India, and want to defend the coveted belts at The Grandest Stage Of Them Allat Wrestlemania.

“Our goal is quite clear. We wanted to become the very first WWE Tag Team Champions from India and to defend the Title at WrestleMania in front of thousands of fans, making our country proud on the global stage.”
