Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has reportedly donated $3 million (₹ 21 crore) to the National Cancer Institute in Cairo after a suspected terrorist incident killed 20 people.

Another 47 people were injured during the explosion in the Egyptian capital on Sunday evening, when a car drove at high speed in the wrong direction and crashed into three others outside the hospital.

“My full support and condolences to the families of victims and victims of the explosion of the Oncology Institute,” Salah said in a twitter message posted immediately after the incident.

The incident was initially thought to have been an accident, but Egypt President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s message of condolence to the victim has hinted otherwise.
