Kolkata’s football giants Mohun Bagan announced a sponsorship tie up with Mumbai based firm Nilkamal Limited, maker of molded plastic furniture, for a one year deal.
The sponsorship deal with Nilkamal Limited happened for a sum of Rs 2 Crore and will continue till the end of 2017-18 season, as per reports.
Mohun Bagan Football Club directors Srinjoy Bose and Debashis Dutta in a joint statement said, “We are delighted to be working with Nilkamal. The two organisations’ will be committed to promote the game offootball throughout the entire country. We are thankful to the management of Nilkamal for having come forward and taken initiative for the development of sports.”
The announcement of tie up came after the match played between Mohun Bagan and Rainbow for the Calcutta Football League on the home ground.
The Mariners are though still without a primary sponsor and Nilkamal will only find its name at the back of the shirt. The club has won the Federation Cup and the I-League once apiece in the last three years, but surprisingly has found it hard to find a sponsor for the team in the last three seasons ever since breaking up with United Breweries.
