Motorola will be the premier sponsor for Rising Pune Supergiant for Indian Premier League 2017. The American telecom brand replaces Kent RO, who were the title sponsors for Pune in year 2016.
The IPL 10 start coincides with the India launch of company’s next flagship Moto G5, which starts sales on April 4. Pune Supergiant play hosts to Mumbai Indians on April 6.
While Pune has succeeded in cracking the deal, scenario is worrisome for Kings XI, Punjab, and Gujarat Lions. There are just five days to go for the IPL to start. Both these teams are still hunting for title sponsors. Tata Motors Prima, the automobile major that backed the Punjab IPL team since 2014, has not renewed its contract for this season.
Gujarat Lions, who supported Oxigen Wallet on their front jersies, too are without a title sponsor this season. Gujarat start their season against Kolkata Knight Riders at home on April 7 and Punjab play Supergiant the next day.
