Lahore Qalandars won the toss and opted to field

Multan Sultans registered a thumping 110 run win over Quetta Gladiator on Wednesday, knocking them out of the playoffs race, and are most likely to make it to the playoffs with just one more win out of their two remaining encounters. The Sultans are currently placed fourth in the table with four wins and four defeats in eight outings. Interestingly, they have won each of their three encounters played in Abu Dhabi so far and are looking well in control.

Meanwhile, this will be the second time both teams will face each other in the ongoing season. The Sultans registered a convincing 7 wickets win over Lahore Qalandars when both teams met at National Stadium in Karachi earlier, their only win in the first phase of the PSL 2021. The Sultans chased down the 158 runs target set by Qalandars in just 16.2 overs with 7 wickets in hand on the back skipper M Rizwan’s 76 and S Maqsood’s unbeaten 61. They would be looking to repeat something similar in Abu Dhabi to advance into the next round. Lahore Qalandars, on the opposite, is sitting third just above the Sultans with five wins and three defeats in eight encounters.

The match will start at 09:30 PM IST.
