The Mumbai has fully warmed up for Asia’s largest long distance road race in terms of participation and prize pool. Over 50,000 participants hit the road early morning for the $405,000 prize money Tata Mumbai Marathon.
The event will be contested in six different categroies –
The London marathon winner and the secretary of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races, Hugh Jones, is the race director.
The event is sponsored by the Tata Group and the marathon is also known as Tata Mumbai Marathon (TMM).
Race categories in the Mumbai Marathon – Marathon (42.195 km); Half Marathon (21.097 km); Dream Run (6 km); Senior Citizens’ Run (4.3 km), Champions with Disability (2.4 km); and open (10K).
The event organisers ProCam International have shared the race route on the official Tata Mumbai Marathon twitter handle.

The half marathon will be flagged off first at 5:15 am, followed by the Open 10 km run (6:20 am); Marathon Elite (7:20 am); Champions with disability (7:25 am); Senior Citizens run (7:45 am) and the Dream run (8:45 A.M.)
The action and excitement will be broadcast LIVE on Star Sports Select 2, Star Sports Select 2 HD from 07:00 am to 11:30 am on Sunday (tomorrow) morning.
