NBA Draft 2020: The NBA Draft is less than a day away from kicking off virtually. The teams are ready with their picks. While some teams would pick a rookie, other teams might look into trading their picks in order to get an experienced player on their roster.
There are 8 teams who have 3 or more picks in the NBA Draft 2020. Philadelphia 76ers have 5 picks while the Kings, Pelicans, and Celtics have four picks each.
The New York Knicks, Orlando Magic, San Antonio Spurs, and Phoenix Suns are open to trading their first-round pick in the draft, according to Ian Begley of SNY.tv. The Knicks have the 8th pick, the Suns have the 10, and the Orlando Magic have the 15th pick.
The Suns and the Magic will likely trade their picks to bring in a veteran for instant help. Whereas, the Spurs might look to trade up and procure a future star. They missed the 2019-20 playoffs for the first time in 24 years.
While the NBA Draft can rarely be predicted, Anthony Edwards, LaMelo Ball, and James Wiseman are expected to be the top 3 picks. Furthermore, the selection process was very complex due to the Covid-19 pandemic as the teams did not have the chance to look at all the young stars.
