NBA Draft 2020: Uncertainty in Minnesota Timberwolves about No.1 Draft pick; who will they pick?

NBA Draft 2020: With less than 1 day to go for the NBA Draft, the Minnesota Timberwolves have still not made a decision about what they will do with the 1st overall pick in the NBA Draft 2020.

Minnesota has narrowed its focus to LaMelo Ball and Anthony Edwards, but are still uncertain which way they will go, according to Sam Vecenie.

President of Minnesota Timberwolves, Gersson Rosas said “Where our picks are at, we have received a lot of calls and a lot of opportunities. It is good because you have options. You have good talent there at those selections or you have options to trade out. I like this draft. I like the talent in this draft. I like the depth in this draft.

The Timberwolves have the 1st, 17th, and the 33rd pick in the NBA Draft 2020.

Rosas is under a lot of pressure to make this draft count and pick a player who will help the franchise make significant steps towards the playoffs.

Will it be LaMelo Ball or Anthony Edwards?

The Minnesota Timberwolves already have a star big man in the name of Karl-Anthony Towns. Hence it will make sense for them to draft a playmaker and someone who is athletic.

Anthony Edwards is averaging 19.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and a field goal of 47.3% per game.

Edwards makes the most sense for Minnesota because he could possibly pair up with Karl-Anthony Towns and D’Angelo Russell. Edwards is physically ready for the league and maintains a score-first mentality. He can also make plays for others.

While LaMelo Ball is an excellent ball-handler who uses hesitations and pump fakes to create space and shoot. He uses advanced moves but always remains in control and dictates the pace. He has an elite touch and attempts many floaters.

He is averaging 17.0 points, 7.6 rebounds, 6.8 assists, and a field goal of 42.5% per game.
