NBA Draft Free Agency 2020: Top Free Agents and where they might trade

NBA Draft Free Agency 2020: After an agreement between the NBA and the NBPA, it was decided to start the NBA Free Agency on the 20th of November. Teams will be permitted to sign players from the 22nd of November.

The teams will have a busy week with the NBA Draft on 18th November, Free Agency 2 days later, and the training camps starting on the 1st of December.

Although this year’s free-agent class does not have much star power, it has loads of players who can make the difference playing in a good team.

The NBA plans to have its opening night on the 22nd of December with a 72 game season. The traded players will need some transition period when they enter their new teams.

Top Free Agents that might trade:

  • Anthony Davis (LA Lakers)

Davis is turning down his $28.7 million player option for the 2020-21 season but will re-sign with the Lakers. It is unknown whether he signs a short deal to hit free agency again in a few years or cashes in on a five-year.

  • Brandon Ingram (New Orleans Pelicans)

Ingram is the Most Improved Player of 2019-20. His partnership with Zion Williamson is a pillar of the New Orleans Pelicans team. The Pelican might not give him a max contract, but they will definitely match any offer he receives from another team.

  • DeMar DeRozan (San Antonio Spurs)

The San Antonio guard has a $27 million player option. He also denied being unhappy in the Spurs. If he hits free agency, a reunion with former Raptors coach Dwane Casey in Detroit is possible.

  • Fred VanVleet (Toronto Raptors)

VanVleet has proven to be a solid point guard on a winning team. It is possible that he cashes in on a deal worth eight figures per year. New York Knicks and the Detroit Pistons are the teams that could equal that amount to take him away from Toronto.

  • Goran Dragic (Miami Heat)

The veteran point guard had a great postseason run helping Miami reach the NBA Finals. Miami will try to retain him by working out a new deal.

Teams have 10 more days before the NBA Free Agency starts and 12 more until they can sign players.

Minnesota Timberwolves, Golden State Warriors, and the Charlotte Hornets will be making the first 3 picks in the NBA Draft on the 18th of November.

With the training camp from the 1st of December, players will have 22 days to accustomed to their new teams and players. Coaches will also have to plan the team plays in different situations of the game keeping the new trades in their minds.
