NBA Rumors: Nicolas Batum all set to to play for LA Clippers this season, check details

NBA Rumors 2020: LA Clippers continue their offseason recruitment as NBA Free Agent Nicolas Batum could be on a trade move to the Clippers, according to Shams Charania. He was waived off by the Charlotte Hornets.

Charlotte is expected to use an exception on Batum. He is in the final year of his deal worth $27,130,435.

This will free up cap space to complete the addition of Gordon Hayward on a four-year, $120 million contract.

Nicolas Batum, 31, has struggled in recent years due to injuries. He only played 22 games in 2019-20 and averaged a career-low 3.6 points on 34.6 percent shooting and 28.6 percent from the 3-point line.

NBA Rumors: How will Nicolas Batum help the LA Clippers?

The LA Clippers lost their power forward and the Sixth Man of the year, Montrezl Harrell in the 2020 NBA off-season to their rivals, the LA Lakers.

The LA Clippers lack size on their bench. With the team needing another defensive forward on the bench, Nicolas Batum could be the player filling that spot in the roster.

The LA Clippers are in need of a ball-handler to assist Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.

Nicolas Batum is a fair ballhandler and has led the Hornets to victory multiple times. He will help the Clippers by making plays and being a good floor general.
