NBA Schedule: 10x NBA All-Star, Kevin Durant will return to Golden State when the Brooklyn Nets play against the Warriors on Feb. 13, while Kyrie Irving will play against his ex-team Boston. The NBA season starts on the 22nd of December.
Durant and the Nets will tip off the new season on the opening night against the Golden State at Barclays Center. They will also play the Boston Celtics, Irving’s former team, in one of five nationally-televised games on Christmas Day.
Durant signed a four-year, $164-million deal with the Nets in the summer of 2019. He has not played a single game due to an Achilles injury in Game 5 of the NBA Finals in Toronto Raptors.
When asked how Kevin Durant will feel finally stepping on the court against the Warriors, he said, “Who knows? I just got to see how I feel in a real NBA game.”
Nets guard Caris LeVert said this week that Durant looks as good as he did before the injury.
“It was good to see Kevin come back from a tough injury like that,” LeVert said on a Zoom call. “I think that Kevin is right back where he was and I think everybody will see that. I’m excited. I’m excited for him, I’m excited for everybody to get him back because the game honestly wasn’t the same without him. I know he’s super-excited to get back to playing.”
Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving looking sharp for the Brooklyn Nets
In addition to the game between Golden State and Brooklyn being Durant’s introduction with the Nets, it will also be the debut of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving as a duo.
Both stars signed with Brooklyn in free agency in 2019 but had to deal with injury issues throughout last season. Durant missed the entire campaign, while Irving was limited to just 20 games.
We could definitely see the Brooklyn Nets go deep in the NBA playoffs this season.
