New Rumors Round: Royal Rumble big plan 2021, Survivor Series reshuffle, Name that banned by WWE, and many more – 01st November 2020

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around from this week’s RAW, Smackdown and related to WWE.

5) New Women’s Royal Rumble Favorite

We noted last week that Sasha Banks was the early betting favorite to win the 2021 Women’s Royal Rumble match. This has now changed after Sasha Banks won the Smackdown Women’s Championship.

According to SkyBet, Rhea Ripley is the new favorite to win the Women’s Royal Rumble match. She is currently listed at 7 to 1 odds to win. For those wondering, Ronda Rousey is currently in second.

4) Update On Invasion Angles During Survivor Series

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that we might not see any invasion angles for Survivor Series until the very last minute.

This is because WWE wants to keep the RAW and Smackdown rosters separate due to COVID-19. Here is what Meltzer said (h/t to Ringside News for the quote below):

“If you noticed RAW and SmackDown haven’t even been sending people yet because they wanna keep those separate because if something happens they only want one brand infected. If you build it up the way it was last year where they had people from all three shows that she says that if someone is infected from the Performance Center it’s going to spread to all three rosters because if something happens they only want one brand infected.”

3) WWE Planning A Special Event In India?

During WWE’s recent call with investors, a special event in India was teased. This tease came from WWE’s new President and Chief Revenue Officer, Nick Khan.

Here is what Khan said:

“We’re excited to now be working with our content partner in India, Sony, on a 2021 event that will primarily feature our developing Indian superstars.

“That event will air in India on the Sony platforms and will also be distributed domestically in the United States. We believe partnerships like this are the best way to build engagement and to maximize the value of content for our international distribution partners and our fans.”

2) Update On WWE’s Plans For Drew McIntyre

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Drew McIntyre has been discussed for a potential match against Tyson Fury.

Fury has not yet committed to a date for that potential match. If it happens, it is likely for one of WWE’s shows in Saudi Arabia. Here is what Meltzer wrote:

McIntyre has also been discussed for a major match with boxing world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, which both have pushed in social media. We were told this week that Fury has not committed to a date for that. With Saudi Arabia not announced for later this year yet, due to COVID, that would have been the most likely place for such a bout.
