New Team India ODI jersey inspired by fearless spirit of New India

The new One Day International kit of the Indian national cricket teams – men and women – is inspired by ‘New India’ and created by Nike’s commitment to equips the players in their relentless conquest for GOLD.

Nike, the official apparel sponsor of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has launched the latest ODI kit for the men’s and women’s national teams in Hyderabad yesterday (Wednesday).

This is not a mere Blue Uniform. But a marvel of technology blended with human emotions and national pride. The new kit symbolises Team India’s achievements over the past one decade and the new fearless and ambitious attitude of its new generation and their commitment to shine.

It is designed to enhance the dynamic movements and modern requirements of the game and the athletes, the new engineered mesh and strategically placed sweat zones help enhanced breathability for the team on the field. Inspired by the young new generation of India, the new design moves away from a traditional silhouette to using new innovative cut lines alongside dynamic material combinations to emphasize a Multi-dimensional Slash Design and Movement approach.

Taking inspiration from the stadiums and the three historic wins in 83’ 07’ And 11’, the inner pride print pays tribute to the 3 India victories while the slash pride orange under-collar represents the fearless energy of the team. The new placket construction, the flex crest, garment cut angles and slash taping all add to making the new jersey lighter, more breathable and helps the athletes be agile on the field.

The kits was unveiled by India’s cricketing icons – men and women.

Harmanpreet Kaur, Indian Women’s National Team added “Over the last couple of years, our team has been playing a more aggressive brand of cricket and the results have been encouraging, so has the love from the fans.  Our game too has evolved- it has become faster and aggressive. These innovations like the Slash design and movement helps the team be quicker on the field.”
