Nike rolls out 51-second video to celebrate Woods’ Augusta triumph

If a bettor had placed $85,000 on Tiger Woods victory even before the legend had teed off at the Augusta Masters 2019, his sponsor for 23 years Nike too was optimistic about the legend bagging his 15th major and 81st PGA title.

Nike’s optimism was evident as the US sports giant was ready with a 51-second video to celebrate Woods’ triumph. The video was released on Nike’s social media handles as soon as Woods capped the last round with a two-under par.

Nike, Woods’ sponsor since 1996, has stood by the legend during his troubled time. Even when many other brands had deserted Woods due to storm in his personal life.

The faith pays back. As Tiger roared as Augusta, Nike benefited in hits business too. By Sunday afternoon, Tiger Woods-branded apparel and accessories for men on Nike’s website were sold out.

The value of Woods’ Sunday victory for Nike is roughly $22,540,000, according to Apex Marketing. This number is equivalent to the brand value that the athletic apparel company received from Woods’ on-camera exposure during the Final Round of the Masters broadcast on CBS, the firm said, CNBC has reported. The iconic Nike swoosh was featured on Woods’ hat, shirt, pants and shoes.
