A sealed copy of Nintendo’s best-seller, Super Mario 64 was sold for a whopping $1.56 million or a little over 11.6 crore INR. Heritage Auctions were also surprised to see a classic game can worth so much. Heritage Auction’s video game specialist, Valarie McLekie was shocked to see Super Mario and the Zelda both broke their past records.
Most Expesnive Game – Super Mario 64: Heritage Auctions declared the sealed copy of Super Mario 64 was the highest rated Super Mario with an excellent Wata game rating of 9.8/10. This made it the finest copy of a 25-year old game ever. Heritage Auctions said, “If you have had your heart set on obtaining the highest graded copy of the single best-selling video game on the Nintendo 64 – the first 3D adventure of Nintendo’s mascot, Mario – we only have one piece of advice: this is not an opportunity to waste”.
Most Expesnive Game – Super Mario 64: Currently, the game holds the world record for the most expensive game. It broke the record of The Legend of Zelda, which was auctioned for $870,000. There are many titles like Super Mario Brothers and Super Mario Brothers 3 which were auctioned for more than $100,000. Heritage Auctions also pointed that the cultural significance and the important history of the video game with such mint condition made it stand out.
