NZ vs BAN 2nd ODI: Ross Taylor ruled out, yet to recover from injury- After missing the first One-Day International, New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor will continue to sit out in the second ODI as he is yet to recover from his injury. “Ross Taylor has been ruled out of the 2nd ODI at Hagley Oval as a precaution, having not fully recovered from his left-hamstring tear,” Blackcaps wrote on Twitter.

“Mark Chapman has been added to the @BLACKCAPS squad for Saturday’s match,” ICC had said in a tweet post ahead of the 1st ODI.

Despite Taylor’s absence, Tom Latham-led New Zealand won the opening fixture by 8 wickets as Trent Boult scalped 4 wickets.

The second ODI will be played at Hagley Oval, Christchurch on Tuesday. Ross Taylor is likely to be fit to play in the third and final ODI that is slated to take place at Basin Reserve, Wellington on March 26.

After the ODI series, New Zealand will also play a three-match T20I series. New Zealand players will then arrive in India to take part in the IPL 2021.
