The 87-year-old Charulata Patel in a span of one ICC World Cup 2019 game has become a celebrity fan of the Indian Cricket Team.
Merely two days after hogging limelight on the television cameras covering the India-Sri Lanka match at the Edgbaston ground, the 87-year-old was set for “light… camera… and action…” to shoot for campaign videos of a multinational brand.
The octogenarian from London, who first caught the eye celebrating India’s success from the Edgbaston stands in Birmingham on June, is the face of Pepsi-Co India’s swag campaign.
This special Team India fan has been in headlines ever since the television cameras panned on her time and again as India went on to beat Bangladesh on Tuesday last. Such has been the aura of the energetic grand old lady, that Team India captain Virat Kohli and his deputy Rohit Sharma took time out to meet her in the stands after India’s victory.
Today (Friday) Pepsi-co India has shared a video of Charulata Patel on its official twitter handle @PepsiIndia with the caption “Pepsi’s latest swag star”.

“Pepsi is honoured to bring the story of the unassailable swag of Charulata Patel,” business daily Economic Times has quoted a PepsiCo spokesperson as saying. “Her passion for the game shows the world that age is no bar when it comes to living life in the moment.”
Earlier, Kohli had promised this passionate fan tickets for the remaining Team India games in the World Cup 2019, and also tweeted her picture with him while thanking all the Team India fans after the win over Pakistan.

Pepsi India has reportedly shot a campaign with Charulata Patel and the TVCs will be runs across various media platforms including television and digital. There cannot be a better way of ambush marketing as the American food and beverage giants take on rival Coca-Cola, the official partner of the ICC World Cup 2019.
Earlier, Mahindra Group chairman Anand Mahindra had also offered the grand old lady to reimburse her match tickets for India’s remaining matches in the World Cup 2019.
Having already qualified for the semi-finals, India is assured of at least two more matches in the World Cup 2019 as they take on their last league game on Saturday against Sri Lanka before the last four outing with a strong probability of making it to the final.
