OPPO to sponsor ₹1 cr prize pool ‘Oppo PUBG Mobile India series 2019’

The Chinese smartphone brand Oppo Mobiles in partnership with Chinese video game company Tencent Games and PUBG Corp is going to organise the PUBG Mobile tournament in India. The competition starts from January 21. The Oppo PUBG Mobile India series 2019 will go on till March 10.

The company has confirmed a prize pool of 1 crore($142000).

PUBG Mobile, developed by Tencent Games and PUBG Corp., is based on popular battle-royale genre video game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds that was originally launched for PC and Xbox One. Up to 100 players parachute onto a remote island to do battle in a winner-takes-all showdown. Players must locate and scavenge their own weapons, vehicles and supplies, and defeat every player in a visually and tactically rich battleground that forces players into a shrinking play zone.

The tournament will be spread across three months and consist of four different phases, first will be the registration phase, which has already begun and will go on till January 23. Stage two is the in-game qualifier and this will overlap a bit with part one from January 21st all the way through the 28th of this month.

These qualifiers will boil down to 2,000 during the third phase (Online Playoffs) from February 9 to February 24. From the online playoffs, the top 20 teams will then compete for the grand prize on March 10. The whole series will be live streamed on Oppo’s official Facebook page and YouTube channel.

The massive cash prize will be broken down like as a cash price of ₹30,00,000 for the winning team, whereas, the second and third teams will get ₹10,00,000 and ₹5,00,000, respectively. The top 10 finishing teams will bag cash prizes.

There will be other following awards on the cards: The Exterminators – Awarded to the team with maximum kills

The Healers – Awarded to the team with the highest number of revives

The Redeemer – Awarded to the player with the highest amount of health restored

The Lone Ranger – Awarded to the player with the maximum survival time

The Rampage Freak – Awarded to the player for the maximum number of kills in one game

To register for the series players can visit PUBG Mobile’s official website for the tournament. Registrations can be made till January 23, by Indian residents with a PUBG Mobile account above level 20.
