Philippine boxer Manny Pacquiao has confirmed that he could face British fighter Amir Khan in the next bout.
“My team and I are in negotiations with Amir Khan for our next fight. Further announcements coming soon,” he announced on his official Twitter account.
For the reigning WBO welterweight champion, the fight could happen in Dubai but there has been no confirmation about that. Pacquiao had tweeted on February 11: “See you in UAE for my next fight. #TeamPacquiao”.
Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum had earlier said that the Filipino would next face Australia’s Jeff Horn in April.
The Filipino boxer had asked his 108,000 followers on Twitter who they would him to fight next. One of the four options was Amir Khan, which got the highest number of votes by his followers.
