The announcement mentioned two things– that the players are playing in isolation and the fact that PMGC is still faced with technical problems, and the team is working diligently to resolve issues surrounding network problems.
“We are deeply sorry for not being able to bring you the matches today,” the announcement read.
Team Secret, who is a part of the top 10 right now, tweeted saying “Another day without PMCG” and expressed their sadness.

Day 2 and the PMGC 2020 schedule events were also cancelled. The unveiling of a new PUBG Mobile map was also sidelined owing to the technical difficulties. PUBG Mobile officials also said they were grateful for the fan who have extended such a vast supports and patience while they work towards getting the event back on track.
The trouble for PMGC 2020 Final has only escalated since the event was shifted from being a LAN event to an online event after three players, whose identities remain undisclosed, tested positive for Covid-19. The players were immediately put under isolation in their hotel rooms during the first day of the event to ensure safety.
Initially, the finals were supposed to be a LAN affair and were supposed to take place at the Coca Cola Arena in Dubai, UAE.
