Preity missing this player in KXIP camp!

Preity Zinta - KXIP - Kings XI Punjab - InsideSport

Kings XI Punjab camp is excited about their top acquisitions in a fierce bid war on the Indian Premier League auction table to garner some of the top guns like Yuvraj Singh, Chris Gayle, R Ashwin, KL Rahul, Aaron Finch, Marcus Stoinis and Mohit Sharma.

Amidst the joy of getting the “best possible value for their money”, there is some disappointment of missing a particular local flavor. Franchisee co-owner Preity Zinta, who played the lead at the auction table for the Punjab team, is heartbroken for not being able to get back Sandeep Sharma to KXIP squad.

The franchisee has shared a video with Preity’s special message for Sandeep on its official KXIP twitter handle.

“The one thing I am heartbroken about it is having to miss out on Sandy (Sandeep Sharma). I was really sad to let him go but I was also excited to see that there was a bidding war for Sandy. This is a great example of somebody who is amazing to work with, who is hardworking and he gets rewarded for his hard work. So we might have missed out on him in the Kings XI Punjab squad but eventually, he is the big winner. So congratulations Sandy and I am going to miss you,” Priety said in the video. Sharma went to Sunrisers Hyderabad in a ₹3 crore bid.

However, Preity, in particular, was excited about the getting the big Punjab boy Yuvraj Singh back home. “I hope the fans are happy with the team. We’ve worked hard to ensure the full purse was utilized to its maximum potential. I’m also very excited to have Yuvi back, who was our marquee player in the first season and is a true Punjabi,” the Bollywood celebrity has said.

KXIP with some intense bidding have got India offspinner Ashwin for ₹7.6cr, opener KL Rahul of ₹11cr, Aaron Finch (₹6.2cr) and matched the best bids to retain Marcus Stoinis (₹6.2cr) and Mohit Sharma (₹2.4cr), Yuvraj for his base price of ₹2 crore and then went for the fading giant of T20 cricket Chris Gayle (₹2 crore) just before the West Indian was about to return without a bid for him.

Social media was abuzz with emotions, excitement, and trolls during the two-day auction event in Bengaluru with Preity’s spree taking the twiterrati by storm.

Virender Sehwag had earlier trolled Preity on Twitter during IPL auctions for being on a shopping spree. Sehwag was seen on the table with KXIP management including the co-owners Preity, Mohit Burman, and Ness Wadia.

Sehwag had also tweeted about his strategy for the IPL Auction with a twist of Humour.
