Premier League advertising picks up in India on Star Sports

Premier League is currently being played without crowds in the stadium but that has not dampened advertisers interest on the live broadcast in India. The English league is being broadcasted live on Star Sports Select & Disney+ Hotstar in the Indian Sub-Continent and is generating decent interest from the advertisers. According to TAM Sports data, advertising per game has increased to more than 11 minutes for the England’s top division.

Premier League advertising picks up in India on Star Sports

For the 11 games held between 24-30 June, the Premier League, England’s top division of football matches enjoyed a total of 274 advertising minutes, leading to an average of more than 11 minutes per match. There were eight new brands that advertised during last week’s action. Hero Motocorp was the biggest advertiser on the Premier League this week followed by Apple iPhones.

Weekday matches continued to enjoy more advertising minutes than weekend games. One reason for this was that the big game between Manchester City and Chelsea, the game which handed Liverpool the championship title, was held on a weekday. Weekday games have got an advertising average of 14 minutes per game while weekend games are at eight minutes.

Premier League Ratings Muted

Though the advertiser interest has increased week on week, the television ratings for the Premier League this week showed no sign of improvement.
