Speaking with the media during the pre-match press conference, the German head coach spoke about Pulisic’s unavailability on Friday. The 22-year-old had a solid start to the new Premier League season finding the back of the net during Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Crystal Palace last week. He is set to miss out on featuring at the Emirates on Sunday as the US international currently under self-isolation.

However, the absence of Pulisic will not have a major impact on Chelsea’s squad with the Blues welcoming back Hakim Ziyech and N’Golo Kante. Speaking about the duos’ return Tuchel said, “Hakim and N’Golo are in training and did everything until yesterday to be in training today, and had no problems.”

He added, “We need another more physical and intense training session with them and the team to decide after the training session at 11. It seems very positive that both can be in the squad for Sunday.”

Pulisic will miss the London derby but is expected to rejoin the first team soon. The USA international has been fully vaccinated and could be back in the first team next week after following the procedure.

He will be hopeful of getting back in time and working on his match fitness ahead of Chelsea’s match against Liverpool next Saturday. The Blues are set to take an away trip at Anfield on matchday three of their ongoing Premier League campaign and will be hopeful o have the USA star fit in time to face the Merseyside outfit.
