Premier League: Former Man Utd forward Eric Cantona inducted into Premier League ‘Hall of Fame’- Former Manchester United forward Eric Cantona has been named in Premier League Hall of Fame. The Frenchman has won 4 titles at Old Trafford, Manchester. In his Man Utd career, Cantona scored 70 goals in 156 appearances before bidding adieu in May 1997.

“Commanding and charismatic, a master of counter-attacking football and one of the greatest players the Premier League has seen Eric Cantona is inducted to the #PLHallOfFame,” the official handle of Premier League tweeted.

“I am very happy and very proud and at the same time, I am not surprised! Of course, to play in England was a dream. It is a dream of everybody to play in the Premier League,” he added,” said 54-year-old Cantona as quoted by Sky Sports.

“I have been lucky to play in this [Manchester United] team with wonderful players, a wonderful manager and wonderful fans. It was the football I dreamt about because Manchester United is a club where they want to win things but in a good way. It was like this in the time of Matt Busby. This is the identity of this club, the philosophy of this club,” he added.

Cantona played a key role for Manchester United in the 90s under Sir Alex Ferguson and the club dominate the premier league after ending 26-year-old title drought.

Last month, Former France forward Thierry Henry and Ex-England striker Alan Shearer were among the first players to be named in the Hall of Fame.
