Premier League : Liverpool held to 1-1 draw by Brighton, now on top of the points table

Premier League Latest Points Table : As expected defending champions Liverpool are again on the top of the Premier League points table but not in the fashion they would have thought off. In their 10th match of the ongoing season – Liverpool was held by Brighton 1-1. Jota scored for the Reds in the 60th minute of the match.

Pascal Gross’ controversial injury-time penalty rescued a deserved draw for Brighton although Liverpool still went top of the Premier League. It was Brighton’s second penalty of the game after Neal Maupay fired a first-half spot-kick wide at the Amex Stadium.

The defending champions go one point above Tottenham, who visit Chelsea on Sunday. Brighton remain 16th, five points ahead of 17th-placed Burnley.

Spurs have 20 points from 9 matches and victory will once again take them to the top of the Premier League points table.

Earlier Premier League action from Gameweek 10 started on the Friday night as Crystal Palace fell to a 2-0 defeat to Newcastle at Selhurst Park.
